Valentine's Weekend

The weekend of Valentine's Day was also Brian and I's 6 month-a-versary. So my wonderful husband planned a weekend getaway for the two of us. We spent the weekend at a beautiful resort in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I have always wanted to visit North Carolina and this trip was like a dream come true. The back of the hotel faced the Atlantic Ocean and the front faced the Currituck Sound. Even though it was a little cold we had an amazing time looking for seashells on the beach, touring a lighthouse, and visiting the Wright Brother's Memorial. I will never forget the amazing weekend we had together and I hope we will get to visit the Outer Banks again soon!

Here we are toasting to our weekend with Champagne in our plastic cups from the hotel!

The beautiful view!

We were so excited to see a lighthouse for the first time in person!

It was really windy down by the ocean!

When Parents Come to Visit

I love it when my parents come to visit us in Virginia! It usually means lots of shopping, great dinners, and company during the week, which I don't usually have! My mom actually made a trip up by herself before Christmas. It was so much fun! She helped me decorate the house and put up the Christmas tree. It was so great to have her here because Brian was extremely busy that week with training. I think my mom enjoyed seeing what daily life is like for a Marine wife.
In January both of my parents were able to come up and see us. I was glad my dad got to see where we are living and how well Brian is taking care of me! I was able to show them both around base and my little town, Stafford, Va. Brian and I were also excited to have a game night, and play games that involve more than 2 people. We topped the trip off with dinner at On The Border, my favorite restaurant! We were both sad to see them go, but we always look forward to the next visit.
We are so blessed to have such great parents that are so involved in their children's lives. It has definately made my days in Virginia much easier. So come back soon!!
Here are some pictures from their visits!
